ART CONTEST WINNERS!
Dear Parents,
In the fall our school competed in an expressive arts contest offered by the University of the Fraser Valley called Flood Stories. The challenge was to create a piece of art that told our flood story.
When the students were brainstorming about their flood experiences and ideas for the contest the common themes that emerged were the strength of the river and the importance of the farmers that make their lives around it. Our staff and students chose to create a mosaic path on paving stones representing the river and farms which will be installed through our garden area when the weather warms up. You may have seen the piece along our hallway in the school.
We WON FIRST PLACE in our division! We will be presented with an award and will have our work displayed at The Reach Art Gallery this January.
The attached invitation has all the details. It looks to be a great afternoon.
