Welcome Back

Dear Barrowtown Families,

Happy New Year! The staff at Barrowtwon are so excited to welcome our students back to our building on Monday January 10, 2022. It seems like so long since we have been in our building, and we are all looking forward to filling it with the voices and laughter of our students!

During the past week, our school team has been hard at work reinforcing measures already in-place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and implementing additional prevention measures. Current public health advice is that we may expect a lot of mild illness for our children, staff, and each other until this recent wave of COVID-19 peaks and then subsides. The volume of illness expected could cause some disruption in attendance and staffing for schools. To this end, school staff have been busy this week formulating plans to shift quickly to online learning in the event of a functional school closure due to COVID.

To reduce the spread of COVID-19 we will adhere to the following guidelines:

· All staff, visitors, and students K-12 are required to wear a non-medical mask covering their mouth and nose while indoors if they are able

· All staff and students complete a daily health check

· Staff and students do not attend school if sick

· Respiratory etiquette and proper hand hygiene taught and practiced at school

· Limit physical contact

· Maximize space between students (and adults) and limit face to face seating arrangements where possible

· School gatherings, events, meetings done virtually until further notice

· School visitors are limited to those working directly with student learning. We must press pause on the following important parts of our school:

- parent volunteers (other than our noon hour supervisors)

- PAC activities within the school and hot lunches

-Field trips that involve student interactions with those outside their daily school bubble

· Essential visitors welcome by appointment. Please contact the office if you would like to request an in-person meeting
